What does each clean need?
- The property and local checkout date.
- The earliest agreed access time after departure.
- The next arrival deadline, including any approved early check-in.
- Who has agreed to clean and who will confirm readiness.
- Guest count, bed setup and any work beyond the usual turnover.
Calbnb supplies a shared view of the imported dates and your usual times. Cleaner assignment, guest counts, bed instructions and completion messages remain outside the app. Put those in the messaging or task system you already use.
Example: turn three bookings into a work list
| Reservation | Clean | Next arrival | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 8–11 | June 11, after 11am | June 11, 3pm | Same-day clean accepted; beds and supplies ready. |
| June 11–15 | June 15, after 11am | June 18, 3pm | Choose and confirm a cleaning slot before the next arrival. |
| June 18–20 | June 20, after 11am | No later booking shown | Agree the clean; do not assume a future booking cannot arrive. |
Calbnb marks the checkout date as the cleaning day. It does not reschedule a job into a gap between stays. If you choose a different cleaning day, confirm that arrangement separately and recheck when a new booking arrives.
How do you plan a same-day Airbnb turnover?
Calculate the window from the actual agreed checkout to the actual agreed next check-in. A 12pm checkout and 2pm arrival leaves two hours. That is a window, not evidence that two hours is enough for your property.
- Before turnover day, confirm cleaner availability, linen readiness and the required bed setup.
- When access is available, check the property’s condition and flag anything that could delay readiness.
- Carry out the agreed room-by-room routine and keep time for the final inspection.
- Before the arrival deadline, send a clear ready or not-ready message. Escalate a delay while there is still time to act.
If the usual cleaning duration does not fit, change the staffing or arrival arrangement in advance. Do not rely on a calendar’s green space to resolve an impossible schedule. Use the turnover checklist to make the scope explicit.
A short message for the next clean
Send the shared schedule link with this message when useful. Leave entry codes and sensitive access details in the private channel you normally use; they do not belong in a public checklist or article.
What if the host and cleaner are in different timezones?
Use the property’s timezone for operating times. A host traveling abroad should not accidentally convert an 11am local checkout into their own current timezone when writing instructions. In Calbnb, set the property timezone during setup and check it in the calendar settings.
Calbnb’s calendar subscriptions use all-day cleaning reminders with the usual times in the description. They are not timed appointments that calculate the cleaner’s working hours. State the local timezone in any urgent message.
What needs a separate message?
Send late checkouts, early arrivals, mid-stay cleans, extra beds, owner stays, access changes and cancellations directly when they affect agreed work. A changed calendar date does not cancel a cleaner’s confirmed job by itself.
At the end of each turnover, ask for a completion message and any unresolved issues. If tracking these confirmations manually becomes the main burden, look at a cleaning management app rather than adding more calendar subscriptions.
Share the dates. Keep it simple.
