The PDF is blank and reusable, with space for the property, date, times and extra instructions. The same checklist is below so you can read it on your phone. This is an original Calbnb template, independent of Airbnb.
Fill in the details before the cleaner starts
Write the checkout and next arrival in the property’s local time. Add the expected guest count, which beds need making, and any agreed early arrival or late departure. These are the details a booking-date feed cannot reliably provide.
Tell the cleaner who to contact if access is delayed or the property needs extra work. Use the cleaning schedule guide for a short handoff message you can copy.
Room-by-room turnover checklist
Before the clean
- Confirm the property, date, checkout and next arrival.
- Confirm guest count, beds to prepare and any agreed exceptions.
- Check access instructions, linen stock and supplies.
- Report damage, missing items or left belongings to the host.
Bedrooms & linen
- Remove used bedding and towels; separate items needing attention.
- Make each required bed with fresh linen, including any sofa bed.
- Wipe bedside surfaces and check drawers and under beds.
- Set out the agreed number of clean towels.
Bathrooms
- Clean the toilet, basin, shower or bath, and mirrors.
- Check for hair and residue on surfaces and floors.
- Refill the toiletries and paper supplies the host provides.
- Replace bath mats and empty bins.
Kitchen
- Check, clean and put away dishes, cutlery and cookware.
- Clean the sink, worktops, hob and appliance surfaces.
- Check the fridge and microwave; remove leftover food as agreed.
- Restock agreed essentials and replace bin liners.
Living areas & entrance
- Wipe tables, handles, switches and frequently touched surfaces.
- Check the sofa, cushions and dining area for spills or belongings.
- Vacuum and mop appropriate floors; leave them dry.
- Reset furniture and check the entry area.
Final handoff
- Walk through every room against the property’s reference photos.
- Check beds, towels, supplies, windows and the agreed lock-up.
- Tell the host about unresolved issues before the next arrival.
- Send the completion time and confirm whether the home is ready.
Use the products and methods appropriate for each surface and follow their instructions. The list describes the work to check; it is not a specialist maintenance or treatment procedure.
Make the template specific to your property
- Replace “agreed essentials” with your actual stock list and target quantities.
- Add a reference photo for the normal arrangement of each room.
- Specify which beds and sofa beds are prepared for each stay.
- Add separate instructions for amenities that require their own procedure.
- Agree what must be reported immediately and what can wait for the next maintenance visit.
Walk through the first turnover together if possible. A cleaner should not have to guess whether an unused sofa bed needs making or where replacement linen is stored. A short, property-specific list is easier to use than a generic document with irrelevant tasks.
Separate turnover work from periodic deep cleaning
A checkout clean prepares the home for the next stay. Periodic work such as detailed upholstery care, high areas or maintenance inspections needs its own scope and time. Decide those jobs separately instead of silently adding them to every same-day turnover.
Record issues discovered during a clean, assign responsibility, and confirm what must be resolved before arrival. Do not mark the home ready merely because each routine box was ticked.
Keep the checklist next to the schedule
The checklist explains what to do. A shared calendar explains which dates need attention. Use both with a clear confirmation process: someone accepts the clean, then someone confirms completion.
Calbnb can share checkout dates without an account. It does not collect checked boxes or proof of completion; use your usual private messages or a task app for that record.
Share the dates. Keep it simple.
